CarbonX™ CF-HTN is an advanced semi-aromatic polyphthalamide (PPA) reinforced with high-modulus carbon fiber. This polymer is widely used for metal replacement applications that must resist high mechanical loads at elevated temperatures and aggressive chemical environments. HTN has traditionally been a go-to material for demanding applications in automotive, aerospace, oil & gas, electrical, electronics, and industrial markets.

Product Attributes Include
Excellent strength and stiffness over a wide temperature range - up to 220°C [Greater than either Ultem™ 9085 or 1010]
Very low moisture absorption yielding improved retention of mechanical properties when exposed to humid environments
Outstanding chemical resistance to alcohols, acids, fuels (auto/jet), oils/lubricants, brake fluid, transmission fluid, antifreeze, and Zn/Ca Chlorides
Please Note:PPA is an expert level material and the user should have a significant amount of experience and is using a high-performance or heavily modified printer.
- Heat Deflection Temp (HDT) of 220°C
- Glass Transition (Tg) of 125°C
- Melt Temp (Tm) of 265°C
Recommended Print Conditions:
- Extruder: 285-315°C depending on printer
- Bed Temp: 110 - 120°C
- Chamber Temp: 80-120°C. Although not absolutely required, we recommend printing high-performance materials such as our HTN in a printer with a heated chamber.
- Bed Prep: PEI (ULTEM) tape applied to the build plate
- Hardened Nozzle: 0.4mm or larger. We strongly recommend toughened nozzles
- Layer Height: Ideal layer height is 60% of nozzle diameter. We do not recommend printing layers below 0.25mm with carbon fiber grades. Lower than 0.25mm may create too much back pressure in the hot end and result in poor feeding, jams, drive gear clicking, and eating a notch into the filament.
Product Dimensions: 200 x 200 x 50mm

Material Safety Data Sheet
CarbonX™ Carbon Fiber PA12 is made using high-modulus carbon fiber and a specialty Nylon 12 (PA12) that we chose for its printability, thermal properties, and chemical resistance. PA12 is widely used in a variety of industries due to its excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and wide processing window. This formulation ensures very low shrinkage in the printed part resulting in excellent dimensional stability. This makes CF-PA12 an excellent choice for tools, fixtures, and jigs.

High temperature construction material
Nylon PA6 CF15 is a high-temperature, black, PA6-based construction material. Filling with 15% carbon fibres increases significantly the mechanical strength of the polyamide the material is based on. The filaments specific quality is the moisture absorption reduced by half and the water absorption time is four times lower than that of the pure PA6. Printing does not require a heated chamber and no deformation occurs. The material is compatible with the HIPS and BVOH support materials. In addition, Nylon PA6 CF15 features a very low linear shrinkage (up to 0.1%), a high deformation temperature (240°C), working temperature (180°C) and low thermal expansion coefficient (0.4 10-5/K).
PolyMide™ PA6-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon (PA6) 3D printing material offering the highest strength, impact resistance and heat deflection of all Polymaker 3D printing materials.

PolyMide™ PA612-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon filament based on a copolymer of Nylon 6 and Nylon 12. Featuring 15% chopped carbon fibers by weight, this filament has lower moisture sensitivity compared to PA6/66 and PA6-based materials, and better mechanical properties than PA12-based materials.
