Obsidian™ PA6+CF filament was formulated to be a lower-cost drop-in Markforged Onyx Alternative suitable for all Markforged printers. We developed this material after extensive analysis and testing on our own in-house Markforged printer and many outside beta testers. The result is a seamless printing experience that produces parts with an outstanding appearance and excellent mechanical properties. Made using premium high-modulus carbon fiber and PA6 copolymer, Obsidian™ is an excellent alternative to Onyx™ that allows our customers to save money when using your Markforged printer.

Recommended Print Settings for Non-Markforged Printers:

• Bed Temp: 90-110°C
• Nozzle: We currently recommend a hardened steel nozzle
• Bed Prep: Magigoo Bed Prep and 3DXTECH Polyimide Tape gives us the best results
• Heated Chamber: Recommended
• Supports: AquaTek™ water soluble X1 USM Universal Support Material is designed to work with complex models
• Drying Instructions: 90°C for 4 hours if the filament exhibits signs of moisture

Spectrum Nylon, PA6 Carbon Fibre, 1.75mm, 750g
High temperature construction material
Nylon PA6 CF15 is a high-temperature, black, PA6-based construction material. Filling with 15% carbon fibres increases significantly the mechanical strength of the polyamide the material is based on. The filaments specific quality is the moisture absorption reduced by half and the water absorption time is four times lower than that of the pure PA6. Printing does not require a heated chamber and no deformation occurs. The material is compatible with the HIPS and BVOH support materials. In addition, Nylon PA6 CF15 features a very low linear shrinkage (up to 0.1%), a high deformation temperature (240°C), working temperature (180°C) and low thermal expansion coefficient (0.4 10-5/K).
PolyMide™ PA612-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon filament based on a copolymer of Nylon 6 and Nylon 12. Featuring 15% chopped carbon fibers by weight, this filament has lower moisture sensitivity compared to PA6/66 and PA6-based materials, and better mechanical properties than PA12-based materials.
PolyMide™ PA6-CF is a carbon fiber reinforced nylon (PA6) 3D printing material offering the highest strength, impact resistance and heat deflection of all Polymaker 3D printing materials.
