Materials

Having the right material for the application is crucial for mission critical operations

Heat Resistance: Parts which will be subject to heat over 100°C need specialised materials. Nylon 6 or 12 maybe be suitable. For higher temperatures over prolonged periods, PEI/Ultem 9010 or 9085, PPSU, PPA and High-Temp Resins are available and supported by Bilby3D
Flame Retardant: In enclosed spaces, flame retardant and low-smoke materials are required. We have a range from ABS, PC and Ultem filaments, as well as BASF flame retardant resins
Environmental: UV, Chemical and solvent resistance is available with the right material. We can also advise on coatings such as Cerakoat
Composites: Plastics reinforced with Ceramic Beads, Glass, Carbon and Kevlar Fibres provide reliable, consistant strenth, low warping and increased UV resistance
